Slovenia Oscar entry: 'Sonata'

PRAGUE -- Slovenia has selected Janez Burger's "Quiet Sonata" (also called "Circus Fantasticus"), which needed top honors within the country's national film fest, becasue it is submission for your foreign-lingo Oscar. The dark quiet movie concerns a circus offering apparently mystical techniques towards the issues of residents from the remote, windswept town. Initially scripted in 2003, Hamburger and producer Jozko Rutar built buzz and gold gold coin before shooting this past year, getting into Irish and Finnish partners -- plus an worldwide gang of top circus artists -- to obtain the scope they wanted.
